OTTAWA- Canada’s NDP has announced the date of the first leadership debate as part of the 2026 Leadership Race. The debate will take place in Montreal on Thursday, November 27, 2025. 

On Tuesday, NDP leader Don Davies and NDP labour critic Alexandre Boulerice stood alongside Canadian Union of Public Employees 4091 President Natasha Stea and called on the government to end unpaid work for flight attendants. This followed Davies introducing legislation in the House earlier in the day to ban this practice.

OTTAWA – This week, to mark World Mental Health Day, MP Gord Johns (Courtenay-Alberni) introduced a motion calling for the federal government to develop a national strategy to address the immediate and lasting mental health impacts of public emergencies.

TORONTO— Today, NDP Leader Don Davies and Winnipeg Centre MP Leah Gazan stood with workers and union leaders to demand real action from the government, highlighting the introduction of Bill C-247, critical legislation that would finally strip Section 107 from the Canada Labour Code, a tool the Liberals have repeatedly used to undermine workers’ rights.
