Laura Dupont
Laura acknowledges the traditional and unceded territory of the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm and Coast Salish people where she resides. Laura is inspired by nature and has spent decades volunteering for various environmental groups in the Tri-Cities including the Burke Mountain Naturalists.
Laura was a two-term Port Coquitlam, City Councillor, President of the Lower Mainland Local Government Association and a board member of the Union of BC Municipalities.
She is a founding member of the Wondrous Tree Fellowship, a grassroots group that works to celebrate and educate the community about nature's numerous benefits.
Laura works hard in the community to push for a more food secure future and spent seven years as a member of Metro Vancouver’s Climate Action Committee, she is also a member of Canada’s Climate Caucus.
Laura loves to paddle local rivers and wetlands. She is fascinated by birds and spends time hiking and biking with her family, friends and good dog Berni.
